Internet search giant Google is expanding its US data centre network, spending US$13 billion on new data centres and office facilities this year.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai says the investments will give the company the capacity to hire tens of thousands of new employees.
"These new investments will give us the capacity to hire tens of thousands of employees, and enable the creation of more than 10,000 new construction jobs in Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio, Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Virginia .
"2019 marks the second year in a row we'll be growing faster outside of the Bay Area than in it."

Last year, Google hired more than 10,000 people in the US and invested $9 billion in the country. Pichai said.
"Our expansion across the US has been crucial to finding great new talent, improving the services that people use every day, and investing in our business," Pichai said.
Google has also announced it will invest more in sales for its cloud business.
Google’s new cloud chief, former Oracle executive Thomas Kuarian, said, "You will see us accelerate the growth even faster than we have to date”.
"We are hiring some of the best talent from around the industry to grow our sales organisation, and you will see us competing much more aggressively as we go forward," Kurian said.
